A GIANT 35 ton whale carcass is lifted on to a removal truck after it was found floating near the coast of Almeria, Spain. The female adult fin whale, which was missing part of its tail stock, measured around 16 metres. Marine rescue organisation Equinac successfully moved the enormous creature with the help of the Coast Guard, the Almeria Port Authority, the Spanish Ministry of Environment and the local police. Biologist Alexander Sánchez, who works for the non-profit company, said that the huge mammal – which had likely been struck by a vessel – posed a danger to passing ships.
